Grizzlyman Adventure Race
The GrizzlyMan Adventure Race is a USARA sanctioned sprint level adventure race that takes place every April in Western Montana. The race takes place at the 28,000 acre Lubrecht Experimental Forest and the 37,000 acre Paws Up Resort. Nestled in the mountains of western Montana and situated 30 miles northeast of Missoula, this rugged landscape provides a challenging venue to racers of all skill levels. This adventure race includes running, kayaking, mountain biking, and orienteering. This is one of the few sports where just completing a race is often considered a victory.
Butte 100
The Butte 100 is a mountain bike race held each August in Butte Montana. It includes 100 miles of trails along parts of the continental divide on a course with 70% singletrack loaded with roots, rocks, and swoopy downhills. It is considered one of the most demanding 100 mile bike races in the US. This year, wheels turn on July 27, 2013.
24 Hours of Rapelje
This is Montana’s only 24 hour race. It first began in 2001 and has steadily grown over the years. This event brings riders of all ages and skill levels from around the country to Rapelje each year. You can ride solo, or in teams of 3 (3-man Class), 5 (Festival Class), and 6 or more (Carnival Class). Rapelje is about 25 miles north of Columbus, Montana surrounded by wheat fields, cattle pastures, and hay fields. This race is perfect for everyone with an ideal blend of athletic competition and tailgating.
