Thursday Night Mountain Bike Ride

This is a group of mountain bikers in the Missoula area who get together each Thursday evening to ride trails within the vicinity of Missoula. New riders are welcome to participate. 


Montana Dirt Girls

This is a group of women in the Missoula area who get together each Tuesday evening to mountain bike. The bike rides are geared for beginner and intermediate riders. The rides are geared towards the slowest riders and allow for regrouping at various turns and key points along the trail. The goal of these rides is to make sure everyone has a good time while building riding skills.  

RMVQ and MESSS Rides

These local athletic endurance rides test the endurance of the most elite athletes in Missoula. The RMVQ is a 24-hour ride over 160 miles of trails and 25,000 vertical feet of climbing hitting all the high points in the Missoula Area including Blue Mountain, Snowbowl, Rattlesnake, Sheep Mountain, Marshall Mountain, Holloman Saddle, Pattee Canyon, and University Beacon. It occurs every October. The MESSS is 100-mile ride/run with 55 miles of road biking from Missoula over Lolo Pass on Highway 12, 20 miles of mountain biking up a dirt road to Elk Summit, and 25 miles of trail running through the Bitterroot Mountains to Blodgett Canyon. The Elk Summit trail was made famous by Norman Maclean in USFS 1919: The Ranger, the Cook, and a Hole in the Sky.
